Went to Newhaven to try and get the Hume Lufe Warbler, did not manage to see it we think due to the weather. Did get good views of Barn Owl popping out of its box and there were many Goldcrests. Also went to the harbour and saw Purple Sandpipers, Turnstones and Fulmers.
Visited Abberton Reservoir today (12/01/19), got few more for my year list and am now on 104 birds. Was amazed at how many Goosanders where there and was hunting for Ringed Necked Duck amongst lots of Tufted and Pochards.
Had a good day out at Minsmere, managed to see three types of swan including, Bewick, Mute and Whooper. Took a long walk at Dunwick Pools to get a Green Winged Teal, new bird for me. Ended the day with a Winter Moth on the car Window.
Visited Rainham Marshes on the 1dt January to start new year list and ended up with 76 different birds on the day. Also, i had met up with the london birders on the 4th and got close view of a water rail. Had to visit again before getting the Short Eared Owl. Here are some photos that I took.
The reserve list is from January 1st which has all birds seen on the day.
Went to Rainham Marshes in December, here are couple photos that I took. Ended the year on 225 different birds, which is a new record.

Managed to see two Cattle Egrets, this was taken on the 1st November though at Rainham.

It was a bit of a wet day at Minsmere (29/10/18), managed to get this photo of a rainbow between the showers.
Young Mute Swan was standing near the path and said hello.
A Bittern was stalking in the reeds from the Isle of Mere Hide
Took a drive to Southwold to see the Red Breasted Flycatcher.
At the end of the day we were searching for a Yellow Browed Warbler, did not find one. Did some sea watching and saw Velvet Scoter, Eider, Oystercatcher, Cormorant and Common Scoter fying out at sea. Despite the weather had a good day out.
Did a bit of sea watching at Titchwell, had fantastic display of 12 Pomarine Skua flying around. Below are some of the birds that I saw from the beach.
Managed to see a Purple Sandpiper also running around at the waters edge.
Got to see Pink Footed Geese to add to my year list.
There were also many Brent Geese feeding.
Had an impressive fly over of geese in a formation of a V.
A Little Egret catching something to eat.
Had a good view through our scope of two Red Kites flying over, was a good end to the day.
This is a Rustic Bunting that was nice enough to stay still for me to get this photo. It was at Wanstead flats and there was at least a hunderd people there so see the bird.
Managed to see the Cattle Egret at Rainham Marshes this morning (06/10/18) flying around. Then was lucky to get a photo of it standing on a cow before it rained.
Then it moved and a Little Egret came in at the same time, could see the difference in size even though at a distance.
